Yoga DhyanaSince the aim of Yoga is God realisation, firm faith in God is very essential.

The aspirant must keep the thought of God and His attributes always in mind while performing his actions in daily life. Meditation or Dhyana should be practised regularly. It is necessary to keep the body and mind healthy, free from diseases and negative thoughts. Remember the saying: “A healthy body has a healthy mind.” Avoid bad company, evil thoughts and idle gossips.

Avoid intoxicants, eating of flesh and spicy food and practise moderation in eating, speaking, sleeping and strenuous physical activities, etc. Yoga cannot be practised properly by one who eats too much or too little. One should eat to live and not live to eat. Eating less is beneficial to Yoga practise.

Speaking less is advisable. Speak only when it is necessary. It is also desirable to practise silence or mauna.

The practitioner of Yoga should try to remain cheerful. Keep smiling always, as far as possible.
