Do you know a flame?
Yes, the light is the flame!
No, the Light is not the flame. This light is merely your motive for the flame. For a student the flame is light, for a cook the flame is heat, for a devotee the flame is a symbol. But none of them know the flame. You do not know the flame, you simply use the flame.
It is only the little moth hovering around the flame that can know the true nature of the flame when it becomes the flame itself.And then, as it burns and dies, it can say: “I Am the flame”.
Just as the moth has to become the flame, you have to become the Truth to know the truth.
You can’t know the Truth until you become the Truth, just as you cannot know friendship until you become friend, just as you cannot know of love until you become love. Not a lover or a beloved- but love itself!
You have to become Life to know life!
