भाद्रपद शुक्ल चतुर्थीका मध्याह्नकाल था। उस दिन चन्द्रवार, स्वातिनक्षत्र एवं सिंहलग्नका योग था। पाँच शुभ ग्रह एकत्र थे। जगज्जननी शिवाने गणेशजीकी षोडशोपचारसे पूजा की और उसी समय उनके सम्मुख अमित महिमामय, कुन्दधवल, षड्भुज, त्रिनयन भगवान् गणेश पुत्ररुपमें प्रकट हो गये।
भाद्रपद शुक्ल चतुर्थी को मध्याह्न के समय विघ्नविनायक भगवान् गणेशका जन्म हुआ था । अत: यह तिथि मध्याह्नव्यापिनी लेनी चाहिये । गणेशचतुर्थी के दिन नक्त व्रत का विधान है । अत: भोजन सांयकाल करना चाहिये तथापि पूजा यथासंभव मध्याह्न में ही करनी चाहिये ।
First you should bring, idol (Murti) of Lord Ganesha on chaturthi (i.e 1 Sep 2011) before 11.30 am.
The most auspicious time to celebrate Ganesha Chaturhi (Puja) is any time between 12.00 pm to 3.00 pm.
Abhijit Muhurta (11.55 am to 12.15) pm is the best time for Ganesha Puja.

In case you are not getting time within muhurta slot, no problem, go ahead with evening puja “just do a Kshama Prarthana”.
within 1 hour 24 mins after sunset is also a good time.

Tritya Tithi last till 11.27 hrs (Local Time) of 23 Aug, thereafter Chaturthi Starts and will continue till 09.41 hrs of 24 Aug.
But for Ganesha Sthapana (Puja), we take MadhyanaVyapini Tithi, i.e Charturthi running during Noon and after Noon Hours.
Hence, Ganesha Chaturthi Puja in Australia is also on 23rd Aug, celebrate after 11.45 but before 15.00 hrs local time.

I am in Singapore & can I bring the Idol(murti) on Friday & start Ganesha Puja at 11.30 Singapore time or India time on Saturday.
One more thing Can idols takes place for 1.5 days & after that visarjan. Is it Ok or we do Visarjan after 11 Days?
