यह व्रत देश-भेदसे श्रावणमें किया जाता है, किंतु भाद्रपद कृष्ण तृतीयाको व्यापकरुपमें होता है। माहेश्वरी वैश्य इस दिन जौ, गेहूँ, चने और चावलके सत्तूमें घी, मीठा और मेवा डालकर उसके पदार्थ बनाते और चन्द्रोदयके बाद उसीका एक बार भोजन करते हैं। इस कारण यह व्रत ‘सातूडी तीज’ अथवा ‘सतवा तीज’ कहलाता है।

इस दिन स्त्रियाँ रात-भर कजली गाती और नाचती हैं।

The Kajli Teej of Rajasthan is a very unique festival of India. Kajli Teej is celebrated exclusively in the Bundi region of Rajasthan. It is celebrated in the Hindu month of Bhadra (July-August). Kajli Teej Festival is the time for the married couples to restore their ties of commitment and devotion. Characterizing this renewal of marital bonds are special sweetmeats and swing rides.

A procession of the goddess in a decorated palanquin marks the beginning of the Kajli Teej Festival of Bundi, Rajasthan. The procession starts from the beautiful Naval Sagar, passes through the main bazaars and comes to an end at the Azad Park. Although the main function lasts for two days, the celebrations can go upto Janmashtami, the festival to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna.
